Registered Veterinary Nurse
Reporting to: Lead RVN
Location: Rutland Vets, Market Harborough
Salary: From £31,200 dependent on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, 4 days per week – weekends 1 in 5 Saturday and Sundays
The role
We are seeking an experienced veterinary nurse to join our team. Rotating throughout the working week between inpatient, theatre and consulting roles, our nurses can get involved in a varied caseload of small animal work.
We pride ourselves on providing our own out-of-hours service. With dedicated night nurses, there are no weeknights on call in this role. However, participation in our 1:5 Saturday and Sunday day rota, along with an equal share of bank holidays is expected.
Our full‑time nurses work a 4‑day a week 8:30am–6:30pm shift pattern with paid lunch breaks. This allows for a good work‑life balance, which is essential in maintaining the high demands of veterinary life; we will however consider full‑time hours over 5 days.

Rutland Veterinary Centre is a first‑opinion RVCS accredited veterinary practice with 5 branches and a hospital in the surrounding area.
We pride ourselves in offering on‑site emergency care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our dedicated team of clinical and non‑clinical staff provide high standards of bespoke, affordable care to our patients and our clients.
We are heavily involved in the local community and actively support many local pet charities.
Exciting news! We are opening our brand‑new hospital in Spring 2026 a stone's throw away from our current Melton site.
