Senior Study Programme Manager for Animal and Equine
Based at our Bicton College campus in East Devon, we are looking for an experienced individual to be part of the delivery team for our Animal Science teaching programmes. The role includes teaching and assessing learners in a range of animal subjects from Level 1 to Level 3, both in the classroom and in a practical environment. Practical lessons include working with exotic species, small and large mammals, fish and birds in our state‑of‑the‑art, zoo‑licenced animal unit.
Responsibilities
* Deliver lesson plans and assessments for Level 1–3 animal studies.
* Provide practical instruction in handling exotic and domestic species.
* Support and develop staff training and industry collaboration.
* Maintain high teaching standards and contribute to curriculum development.
Skills & Experience
* Broad experience in the animal industry; animal science background preferred.
* Previous teaching experience not essential; demonstrated training or staff development valued.
* Knowledge of aquatics, reptiles, or related areas would be beneficial.
* Qualifications at Level 4 or above required; a teaching qualification desirable.
* Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.
Hours of work
This role is a full‑time position, 37 hours per week.
