Overview
This role will be based within Warwickshire's Children in Care Permanence Team who are predominantly based in Bedworth but offer a Countywide service to all Children in Care who have a plan of permanency across Warwickshire and those who may be placed further away from home. It is a busy but highly rewarding team to work for, passionate about capturing the voice of young people, ensuring they are central to all care and pathway planning decisions. We offer a service to Children in Care of all ages (up to 18yrs) across a range of settings, including foster care, residential provision, supported accommodation, and placements with connected family members. We also work closely with families to support children and young people in returning to their families when safe. Our focus is on ensuring children are well supported to maximise life chances, thrive in care, are safe from harm, have access to education and training, and feel prepared for adulthood.
Responsibilities
* Work with children and young people, ensuring they are well supported and empowered.
* Advocate to ensure children’s voices are heard.
* Build positive relationships with young people and families.
* Organise, perform tasks efficiently, demonstrate performance drive, and apply knowledge of legislation and processes.
* Represent children verbally in meetings and in writing.
* Meet English Fluency Duty requirements: speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
* Adhere to safeguarding and promotion of welfare of children and adults.
* Work within a supportive managerial structure with robust supervision and wellbeing focus.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
Career progression based on experience and qualifications:
* Year 1: Newly Qualified Social Worker – Grade J
* Year 2: Social Worker – Grade K
* Year 3: Senior Social Worker – Grade L
* Year 4: Advanced Social Worker – Grade N

* Salary up to £51,726.00 per annum, including a £3,500 pro‑rated market supplement subject to pension, tax and NI deductions.
