The opportunity
A vacancy exists for an Independence Senior Associate within the regulatory, reporting and operations area of the UK Independence team.
The regulatory, reporting and operations sub function is responsible for oversight of the control environment that governs the UK Independence team. This includes supporting with ISQM documentation/implementation/reviews, internal audit reviews and external regulatory inspections (FRC/PCAOB). In addition, the sub function deals with process and resource optimisation across the UK Independence team providing a wide lens focus on improvement initiatives and data insights for monitoring and performance.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Leeds.
Your key responsibilities
The role will be varied in nature, and will include the following responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Independence team implement process efficiencies and opportunities to use technology to better support the business.
2. Supporting with the creation of Power Bi dashboards for use by Independence leadership and external stakeholders, as required.
3. Supporting with the creation of Independence analysis/MI data reports for the UK Independence Leader
4. Responsibility for performing various detect controls
5. Supporting with the completion of an annual Independence submission to EY Global - reporting details of regulatory and policy violations incurred during the respective 12-month period
6. SharePoint updates and maintenance.
7. Oversight of offshore support centre colleagues to ensure certain outsourced Independence activities are completed timely and accurately
8. Monitoring firm compliance with mandatory training
9. Supporting with compilation of reporting requirements to various regulatory bodies FRC, ICAEW etc
10. Testing EY audit team compliance with regulatory fee cap requirements
Experience
Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:
11. Several years’ experience working in a Risk Management function
12. Strong analytical and interpretation skills with excellent attention to detail
13. Extremely organised and able to manage complex projects
14. Adaptability and flexibility with good team working skills and the ability to multi-task
15. Ability to work to pre-determined deadlines and meet objectives under pressure
16. Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts
17. Proactive approach and capability of working using own initiative
18. Strong communication ability with colleagues at all levels
19. Whilst Independence experience is not essential for this role, it would be beneficial. All applicants are expected to have prior risk management experience or transformational change management/operational improvement experience.
