AESSEAL are looking for a Fabrication / Assembly Apprentice to complete a level 3Engineering Fitter apprenticeship.
As a Fitter / Assembly Apprentice in the ‘Assembly’, and ‘Inspection & Testing’ functions of this department, the role is both busy and varied. Along with contributing to ‘Assembly’, and ‘Inspection & Testing’ operations, the boundaries of this job are much broader and specialist, whereby you will be expected to assist the management and wider business with a variety of tasks towards on-time delivery and exceptional customer service. You must be able to work effectively as both an individual and in a team, whilst also being proactive and diligent in your approach to work. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, underpinned by quality and attention to detail. You must be capable of switching tasks seamlessly and enjoy working on your feet in a busy environment.
Role & responsibilities
* Mechanical Seal Assembly Functions. Assembly of mechanical seals. With training and development, and aligned to our category map, this will cover the full range of mechanical seals built at the head office
* Inspection / Testing and Inspection of Assembled Seals and component parts. Inspect, test, and etch of assembled seals in preparation for boxing and dispatch. Fault find and reassemble where required
* Understanding. Complex engineering drawings and of our design principles
* Picking / collection of component parts from inventory. Pick parts from the inventory for sales orders
* Knowledge of Boxing and Dispatch Operations. Contribute to boxing and dispatch operations
* Storage of component parts to inventory. After inspection, contribute to storing parts within the inventory
* Goods / Receipt Inwards. Contribute to the receipt of ‘goods in’ within business operations
* Stock Control and Stock Taking. Contribute to stock control and stock taking duties for audit purposes
* Rectification of Stock. Contribute to rectification of stock, so to ensure an accurate inventory
* General Duties. Conduct general duties with Stores and wider business
* Uphold our organisational cultures and values. Strive to uphold these in all you do
* On-Call Responsibility. In due course, and with experience contribute to On-Call cover
* Willing to work overtime when necessary. Applicable for 18+ year olds

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

You will need both of the following:
* GCSE English language C or 4 or above
* GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
