PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £49,000 - £55,000 + London Weighting (£5,319)depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM? As a Senior Data Analyst within BBC Studios, you will be part of a cross-functional taskforce that are setting out to review and optimise our content monetisation process, from initial investment and production, through to distribution and recoupment. Your role will be to map our finance systems, identify the key metrics that exist across the content lifecycle, and design robust and scalable reporting frameworks. This role is central to enabling consistent and reliable reporting on the value of our content and facilitating better and faster decision making.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Work proactively in collaboration with the Lead Data Analyst to uncover requirements, develop a scope and deliver a prototype of what this new and improved reporting can look like
Analyse existing data within our finance systems to understand what is available and determine how to integrate these systems to provide a holistic view of the value of content..
Investigate data quality issues across systems, and identify and flag potential risks to reporting and analysis.
Work closely with Project Management and Business Analyst teams to develop a roadmap and manage expectations of more senior colleagues.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL
Degree level (or above) education in STEM subject, or equivalent experience
Experience of using SQL for combining and transforming data from various tables and sources
Proficiency in the use of data visualisation tooling (Tableau preferred)
Experience developing collaborative relationships across a complex corporate or public sector organisation, including gathering stakeholder feedback and translating it into actionable project scopes
Ability to effectively delegate and prioritise accordingly while working on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to simplify complex problems into component parts and deal with them systematically
Experience in assessing data integrity across systems, with a focus on accuracy, completeness and reliability
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting data-based insights to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
DESIRED NOT REQUIRED
Experience of working with finance or sales systems (e.g. SAP, Salesforce) or working with data from these systems
Experience of working within the TV industry and knowledge of the content monetisation process
