The Estates, Facilities and Campus Development (EFCD) directorate are responsible for the management and development of the estate at MMU. The team has multidisciplinary expertise with a mix of architects, building surveyors and traditional project managers. This enables us to coordinate our skills, allocate resources effectively and collaborate closely as a team. We promote a considerate culture within the team, we value and support each other and care for our clients and this helps us to deliver our work programmes successfully.

This is a 12-month fixed term role on a full time (35 hours a week) basis to provide experience to the post holder. In the role you will be responsible for the delivery of a range of refurbishment and renovation projects, specialist teaching and research equipment installations, and maintaining building environments. The post holderwill: -

1. Support more senior colleagues in delivering projects as required, designing and project managing works.
2. Monitor project cash flow.
3. Ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and to budget.
4. Provide design and drawing support as required.
5. Ensure the project manual is adopted and that all project management documentation is completed and projects handed over as necessary.

If you are a high calibre architecture student looking to gain an understanding of project management alongside architecture, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn new skills whilst helping to improve the University campus. The role is not solely design based and you will gain an understanding of the full project process from RIBA 0-7, including working with external consultants and contractors.
