We are on a mission to reshape what leadership looks like in the arts. We're seeking a visionary Lead Music Curator to work closely with our Head of Programme and programming team to co-create and deliver a music programme that reflects East London's diverse cultural landscape.
This is a leadership-oriented role for a dynamic mid-career artist, curator, or cultural producer who is deeply connected to Global Majority music scenes in the UK.
The Lead Music Curator role is part of our wider development programme In-House; a bold blueprint to centre the voices, talent, and leadership of Global Majority artists and creatives, and those with lived experiences underrepresented in senior creative roles, in shaping the future of arts centres.
We've spent the past year listening to artists, curators, and communities to build a development model that creates not just opportunity, but long-term change.
The result is In-House; a three-year programme that provides opportunities for artist networking, mentoring, and training for mid-career creatives looking to progress into leadership roles. In-House is generously supported by the Esm e Fairbairn Foundation.
Job Requirements
You might be a curator, promoter, artist, DJ, creative producer, artist manager, or multi-disciplinary creative - we're open to all kinds of backgrounds. What matters most is your passion, vision, and connection to the culture. Just show us your experience, networks, and ideas. We see this role as a step on your creative journey; either to Head of Music at Rich Mix or another artistic leadership role. We're especially keen to hear from Global Majority applicants, and those with lived experiences underrepresented in senior creative roles.

Job Responsibilities
* Support the programming team in shaping Rich Mix's artistic vision
* Curate a series, season, or festival-style music programme that is financially viable and attracts high footfall, balancing creative vision with revenue goals
* Platform emerging and underrepresented talent
* Build partnerships with artists, collectives, grassroots organisations, labels, and promoters
* Collaborate with Rich Mix's programming, marketing, and community teams to engage and attract new audiences
* Champion equity, inclusion, access, and representation in programming
* Propose and manage event budgets (with team support)
