We are seeking to appoint an organised, caring and conscientious Safeguarding Lead. The core responsibility of the post holder is to lead safeguarding across the school, fostering a strong safeguarding culture and ensuring robust child protection, safeguarding and online safety procedures. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils is paramount. The Safeguarding Lead will work effectively with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies. The successful candidate will also lead the RSHE curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive and inspiring, and carefully adapted to meet the specific needs of the Holwell cohort. The curriculum must be fully aligned with the 2026 statutory RSHE guidance and provide a progressive programme that equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe. This includes targeted learning that reflects safeguarding priorities and risks identified within the school’s local context. This post is Monday – Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm. Term time only and one inset day (usually in early September) At Holwell School, safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. The Staff and Governing Body are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and keeping them safe, following our safeguarding procedures and by implementing guidance set out in the DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). All appointments will be subject to full safeguarding checks as well as an online search for all shortlisted candidates which will seek publicly available information on the candidate's suitability to work with children.
