Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, working pattern to be confirmed.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated individual to join us as a Personal Assistant to the General Manager & Clinical Service Manager for Emergency Care at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Tasks will include but not limited to; working with the leadership team to organise meetings, minute them and create action logs, manage email inboxes and phone holding. Appropriately disseminate a variety of correspondence/documentation, some of which is highly confidential. Liaise with staff at all levels both internally and externally, answering written and verbal enquiries when necessary, taking action on all matters which can be dealt with without further reference. Answer written and verbal enquiries from patients/relatives, referring enquiries to consultants only when necessary. Deal with stressful phone calls which can be emotional and of a sensitive nature from relatives/patients.
You will have experience of secretarial tasks including minute taking, typing and diary management and ideally have worked within a healthcare environment. You will be enthusiastic, flexible, willing to learn, eager to play an effective part in a busy team environment, work to a high standard and be able to use your own initiative.
