Domestic Abuse Refuge Project Worker (Children & Young People)
Location: Hampshire, Portsmouth & Southampton
Salary: £15,000 - £20,000 per annum
Hours: 22 hours per week
Enhanced DBS: Required

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Refuge Project Worker to support children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and are living in refuge accommodation. This is a trauma-informed role focused on safety, recovery, empowerment and long-term outcomes for children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

*

Providing one-to-one and group support to children and young people in refuge

*

Delivering safety planning, advocacy and emotional support

*

Supporting children to process trauma and build resilience

*

Facilitating group work, peer support and holiday activities

*

Working in partnership with mothers to strengthen family relationships

*

Supporting access to education, including school liaison and transfers

*

Developing and reviewing individual support and risk management plans

*

Advocating for families with statutory and voluntary agencies

*

Maintaining accurate case records and reports in line with data protection

*

Contributing to the safe day-to-day running of refuge accommodation

*

Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including emergency response

What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people

*

Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

*

Ability to work within a multi-agency and legislative framework

*

Confidence in advocacy, risk assessment and safety planning

*

Ability to manage a caseload and work independently

*

Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills

*

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance

*
