Aboutthe role
We arerecruiting an experienced and knowledgeable Field Maintenance andService Engineer to support our depot, as well as regional basedoperations across the Peterborough area. This is an excellentopportunity for a mechanically skilled engineer with diesel engineexperience who is looking to develop theircareer.
In this role, you willplay a key role in maintaining and servicing our equipment, both inthe depot and on-site. This position is ideal for a hands-onprofessional looking to apply their expertise in a dynamic andsupportiveenvironment.
Whatyou will be doing
* Service, maintain, and repair pumps, generators,and diesel-powered equipment in both depot and field-basedenvironments.
* Prepare andinspect equipment at the depot to ensure it is fully operationalbefore deployment.
* Carryout major overhauls and refurbishments of end-of-lifeequipment.
* Diagnose faultsand perform repairs to minimise equipmentdowntime.
* Collaborateeffectively with the service team, hire controller, and foreman toensure smooth operations.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safetyregulations and company policies at all times.
* Maintain a clean and organised workingenvironment, ensuring all equipment meets safety and qualitystandards.
* Travel tocustomer sites and participate in an on-call rota (1 week in4).
What we are lookingfor
* Mechanicalexperience, ideally working with plant equipment, pumps,generators, and diesel engines or similar isdesirable
* Understanding ofelectrical systems, hydraulics, and controlsystems
* Relevantqualifications such as NVQ Level 3, an M&E relatedapprenticeship or equivalent.
* Full UK Driving licence
* Ability to identify and resolve mechanical andelectrical faults efficiently.
* Self-motivated with the ability to manageworkload effectively while collaborating withcolleagues.
* Goodinterpersonal skills to liaise with customers on-site and ensureexcellent service delivery.
* Willingness to work in a field-based role,including occasional call-outs and travel across theregion.
