Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Wolverhampton for a Waking Night Children’s Residential Care Worker. The role involves supervising and supporting children throughout the night in a residential setting to ensure their safety, comfort, and well‑being. Key responsibilities include maintaining a calm environment, managing crises appropriately, updating records and logs, adhering to safeguarding policies, and providing emotional support as needed. The role requires close collaboration with daytime staff to ensure consistency in care and support plans.
Qualifications
* Experience in child care, residential care, or crisis management.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and behaviour management techniques.
* Ability to remain alert and responsive during overnight shifts while managing any arising issues.
* Organizational and documentation skills to update records and logs accurately.
* Relevant qualifications in social care or child care are beneficial (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent).
* A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people and working collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
