This role has been designed as ‘Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE partner/customer office.

We have a new opportunity for a bright, driven, customer-focused professional to join our Hybrid Cloud ‘Delivery’ team, working alongside our Enterprise Data Engineering consultants to accelerate data engineering opportunities.

The Advisory and Professional Services (A&PS) delivery team within HPE Pointnext Services provides thought leadership, industry know-how, and technical excellence to consultative engagements, helping customers maximize business benefits from their technical investments using HPE and partner technologies.

As a Data DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for:

* Developing and implementing scalable clustered Big Data solutions, focusing on automated dynamic scaling and self-healing systems.
* Participating in the full lifecycle of data solutions, from requirements to continuous optimization.
* Providing technical thought leadership and advisory on data technologies and processes.
* Collaborating with internal and external teams, taking leadership as needed.
* Supporting solution improvements driven by projects or services.

To excel in this role, you will need:

* An organized, methodical approach.
* Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
* Clear and concise communication skills.
* Ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Data engineering skills such as ETL/ELT.
* Technical implementation skills following industry best practices.
* Experience researching and advising on technological products/services.
* Experience working in hybrid environments with classical and DevOps practices.
* Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

Technical skills & experience required:

* Linux system administration and implementation.
* Containerization technologies: Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes.
* Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bamboo, Concourse.
* Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Filebeat.
* Observability and SRE practices.
* Big Data ecosystems: Apache Spark, Hadoop.
* Edge technologies: NGINX, HAProxy.
* Proficiency in YAML or similar languages.

Desirable skills & experience:

* Jupyter Hub.
* MinIO or similar S3 storage solutions.
* Trino / Presto.
* RabbitMQ or other messaging queues.
* Apache NiFi.
* Rego policy language.
* Shell scripting in Python, Bash.

As a Cloud Technical Architect, responsibilities include:

* Designing and developing new capabilities, solution options, and proof of concepts.
* Leveraging Public Cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code.
* Providing technical challenge and assurance throughout development and delivery.
* Developing reusable solutions and patterns to reduce costs and development time.
* Working independently or within a team using DevOps practices.

To excel as a Cloud Technical Architect, you need:

* An organized, methodical approach.
* Excellent time management.
* Clear communication skills.
* Ability to convey complex concepts effectively.
* Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills & experience:

* Experience with AWS cloud-native technologies.
* Deployment of IaaS/PaaS in multi-cloud environments.
* Cloud and infrastructure engineering skills.
* Ability to bridge infrastructure and user-facing systems.

Desirable skills & experience:

* Kubernetes expertise.
* Automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Foreman, Puppet, Python.
* Linux platform and services experience.

Prerequisites:

* Must hold UK DV security clearance.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Role based on client site; no remote work.
