Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual to join the medical department. The role involves working with elite female footballers in Tier 3 women’s football, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for the 1st team and pathway players.
The successful candidate will work varied hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This is an excellent opportunity for proactive individuals passionate about football, offering internal CPD and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Conduct clinical assessments of injured players
* Maintain detailed injury and treatment records
* Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players about injuries and availability
* Participate in in-house CPD sessions
* Support junior therapists within the pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies on health, safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications and Requirements:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFAif qualification and commitment to reaccreditation
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, managing injuries and rehabilitation
* Medical insurance suitable for semi-professional women’s footballers
* Ability to participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation (preferred)
