Waverley Medical Centre
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and forward thinking Registered Nurses to join our Community Nursing Team in the Stranraer area of Dumfries and Galloway. This post is based within Waverley Medical Centre, supporting the wider Rhins Community Nursing Team, which provides care across a large geographical area including Stranraer and the surrounding rural communities of Drummore, Portpatrick, and Glenluce.
Please note this post is a fixed term for 9 months from start date.
This is a 24/7 service, and the role includes shift work, including night duty, during which a Registered Nurse and a Healthcare Support Worker provide overnight community nursing cover for the Wigtownshire area. As a result, the post involves significant driving across diverse locations.
Community care in Dumfries and Galloway is undergoing a period of transformation, with Community Nursing becoming part of the newly established Home Team, working alongside a range of health and social care professionals. There may also be occasional requirements to support treatment room services and to provide cover in other areas of the region, depending on service needs.
This is an exciting and progressive time to join Community Nursing. While previous community experience is advantageous, applications from newly qualified nurses are warmly welcomed. Comprehensive guidance, mentorship, and support will be provided within our high performing and collaborative team.
