Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Lung Cancer CNS at Kingston and Richmond NHS Trust will work effectively as an autonomous practitioner, and as a core member of the lung Multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing specialist advice and support to patients and their families and acting as a key worker at all stages of the lung cancer pathway.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for influencing patient care through clinical practice, clinical management, leadership, education, research, audit and professional activities for all disciplines relating to lung cancers working with the respiratory directorate.
The lung cancer clinical nurse specialist will provide specialist help, advice and support to patients, their families and carers and act as an advocate by providing information which leads to informing patient choice. Communication with MDT members, GP's and palliative care services is an essential part of the post.
The post holder will play a key role in the continual development, implementation and evaluation of the lung cancer service locally to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
