1:1 Teaching Assistant Location: Near Market Weighton (YO43) Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time / Ongoing Salary: £92 – £120 per day GSL Education is seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 4 pupil within a specialist alternative provision setting. This is a highly rewarding role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes. A supportive and collaborative staff team dedicated to improving outcomes for every pupil. The Role: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS4 pupil with additional needs. Support engagement with learning, helping to build confidence and routine. Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation. Adapt activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs and learning style. Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure consistent support. The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have: Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs. A calm, patient, and consistent approach. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. The ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations. Experience in education, care, youth work, or support roles (desirable). A driving licence is beneficial due to the location.
