About the role

The main responsibilities of the role will include:
1. Processing enquiries relating to new and existing service users
2. Management of Team email inbox.
3. Attending and taking minutes at internal and external meetings.
4. Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence via email, telephone and letter.
5. Assisting with the preparation of reports.
6. Inputting and extracting information from IT systems
7. To collate data including financial information for reporting purposes.
8. Maintain electronic database records.
About the Candidate:
We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate with 5 GCSE or equivalent, including English & Maths at grade C or above. You must have good administration and IT skills and a methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail. You will be required to work as a team, as well as have the ability to work autonomously and have good time keeping skills.
In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
Due to certain responsibilities/client demand, the postholder will be required to work from the office regularly and this could be with little notice. There will also be the opportunity to work from home.
The candidate will need to be flexible and adaptable as there will be the requirement for the post holder to move between teams dependent on service needs, and to manage increased workloads / provide cover for other team members.

Democratic Services
We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include:
9. Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
10. Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
11. Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
12. Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
13. Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
14. Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
