Our Role: This role leads the design, delivery and management of learning and development initiatives and interventions across The White Company. A key focus is ensuring a ‘Fit for Future’ growth approach by listening to employee feedback, utilising the Development Hub LMS system, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders to develop career development and a culture where everyone has the opportunity to own their development. All initiatives support people and business strategies and organisational growth, covering behavioural and technical skills, competency development and management; team building; talent identification, talent management and career pathing; as well as Leadership Development.

What you’ll be doing

* Strategy and Impact: In partnership with the Head of OD and Culture, develop a learning strategy for the business encompassing technical and behavioural learning needs, supporting The White Company’s business strategy.
* Review current learning offer, approach and impact, ensuring LMS inclusion, and oversee the training delivery schedule for the business.
* Work with the Senior Comms and Engagement Manager to ensure alignment of L&D and Culture & Engagement approaches where appropriate.
* Assess learning and training needs across the whole business.
* Develop bespoke learning programmes in response to identified and prioritised learning needs.
* Identify relevant third-party suppliers for partnerships when external expertise or resources are needed.
* Manage the L&D department budget.
* Learning Management System: Lead the success of the LMS system so the L&D Team has clear short- and long-term goals for success.
* Work with the L&D Digital Specialist to oversee creation of digital learning initiatives, define success metrics, and implement best practices.
* Develop a system for evaluating training impact across the business to maximise transfer of learning and maintain high proficiency standards.
* Performance & Potential: Develop an approach to performance management and feedback that genuinely supports individuals, teams and the business.
* Support talent management focusing on retaining high-potential employees.
* Create a skills-based approach to building clear career pathways, considering skills gaps and alignment with Company Strategy.
* Champion career development plans across the business to ensure ongoing development.
* Support the Head of OD and Culture in enhancing a culture of feedback that is constructive.
* Play a key role in talent discussions and work with People Partnership to implement recommendations on an individual and company basis.
* Design & Delivery: Ensure training materials reflect TWC brand, values and culture; design programmes supporting career development and deliver technical and product training; oversee induction activities; provide coaching to leaders and managers; own the psychometric tool Insights Discovery for development purposes.
* Team and Stakeholder Management: Manage the L&D team and form partnerships with business stakeholders; partner with Senior People, Talent and Comms & Engagement Managers to join up people-centric initiatives; build strong relationships with management teams to support SMART development plans; foster coaching and mentoring across the business; drive delivery of people projects; establish collaborative, secure and productive team ways of working.
* The Skills And Experience You’ll Need: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams (retail or hospitality preferred); skilled in LMS and digital learning tools; strong training design with a learner-first mindset; confident facilitator of leadership theory and behavioural development; CIPD (or equivalent) desirable; Insights Discovery accreditation a plus; proficient in Office 365; experienced in managing external partners; strong coaching and people-first approach; deep understanding of the learning cycle and project management; proactive, energetic and adaptable; excellent stakeholder engagement; highly organized; thrives in fast-paced environments; solutions-focused problem-solving.
