Job Overview: The Senior Process Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the process engineering discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the process engineering discipline. The Senior Process Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. They impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the process engineering team and other related teams, ensuring work within appropriate guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards.
2. Lead small projects as a Lead Engineer within the engineering team.
3. Apply knowledge and skills to standard and nonstandard situations.
4. Prepare detailed design calculations, analyses, reports, and procedures.
5. Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and budgets, planning short-term activities.
6. Communicate complex issues clearly to establish understanding.
7. Understand project scope, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements; address concerns proactively.
8. Identify scope changes and raise change notifications with supporting documentation and estimates.
9. Support Variation Orders similarly.
10. Coordinate with all disciplines for clash-free designs.
11. Collaborate with other departments for input on discipline designs and drawings.
12. Maintain coordination with engineering disciplines, planning, and project management teams.
13. Document significant communications and forward to relevant leads and managers.
14. Assist in estimating bid proposals, including technical queries, execution statements, and work-hour estimates.
15. Raise technical queries for missing information, scope clarification, and compliance with procedures and standards.
16. Develop design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications.
17. Participate in finalizing deliverables and ensuring compliance and integrity.
18. Attend project review, vendor, engineering meetings, and offshore surveys as needed.
19. Provide technical direction and review work of designers related to process engineering.
20. Review and prepare design reports and procedures.
21. Support other disciplines with design inputs for their deliverables.
22. Review vendor and subcontractor submittals for compliance.
23. Mentor less experienced engineers on procedures, standards, calculations, software, and evaluations.
24. Check engineering work performed by others.
25. Be aware of project costs related to own work and discipline.
26. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
27. Prepare and check key deliverables such as process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, and studies.
28. Provide process support for layout reviews, safety studies, datasheets, and control narratives.
29. Assist in closing HAZOP actions and participate in technical audits.

Project: Lead Engineer/PEM
Functional: Supervising Department Manager
Liaise With:
All engineering disciplines, fabrication, safety, document control, procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
Supervises:
Engineers.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
* 8-15 years of oil and gas experience, mainly in detailed design.
* Strong knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, standards, codes, and guidelines.
* Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society.
