Provision of a wide range of procurement support to the Council's Procurement Team, including sourcing, purchasing, contract, and supplier management functions for various suppliers, services, and works. This role enables the most effective use of the council's resources while meeting client needs. The post also involves assisting in the day-to-day management of the council's e-tendering portal and other IT systems.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Central Procurement team, which implements innovative procurement solutions to ensure the Council achieves best value through its relationships with suppliers, companies, and other partners.
As the Procurement Support Officer, you will join a small, busy team handling multiple categories and spend areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing a career in procurement. You will undertake procurements and support complex tenders, alongside producing performance and activity reports using specialist e-tendering solutions and financial systems. Proven experience with electronic systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential.
The role requires good communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks and workload. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build good working relationships across the Council, with partners, and external suppliers are important.
You should be studying or willing to study for a relevant qualification, including CIPS Level 4.
The role offers flexible working arrangements, including working from home, other sites, and the office, to support work-life balance. Enthusiasm and determination are key, along with relationship-building skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
