Junior Interior Designer (FF&E)
Description
Kate Lovejoy Interiors creates homes where story, mood and colour meet. We love to work collaboratively with our clients, supporting them through the project, making the process as enjoyable as the end result. We pride ourselves on our professional, transparent and collaborative approach.
Kate has grown this business with passion and hard work and we are looking for a talented, confident and friendly junior-weight designer to become a vital member of our small but dynamic team. Your industry knowledge, FF&E experience, creativity and relationship building skills will be key to your success in this role.
As the sole junior-weight designer in the business, you’ll work closely alongside Kate, gaining hands-on experience with residential design projects as well as an increasing number of commercial projects too.

* Contributing to client presentations, including mood boards, material boards and 3D visuals (directing outsourced CG work).
* Working with clients, suppliers and contractors to source and specify FF&E that captures the aesthetic and functionality required for each project.
* Working with makers to design and produce bespoke and custom pieces, ensuring that items are not only beautiful but technically robust, environmentally kind and within the project budget. Working on multiple projects at once with an astute approach to deadlines and deliverables.
* Providing design support and administration during all phases of projects. As a project coordinator you will participate in the smooth running of projects, including working with the project programme, handling procurement, coordinating deliveries and liaising with clients. Multi tasking is expected.
Qualifications, skills and experience
* A relevant interior design qualification.
* 1-3 years of professional interior design experience.
* You will be using SketchUp, Canva, Photoshop, Pinterest & Google Workspace regularly, so a good working knowledge of these would be beneficial.
* Skilled at researching finish materials and knowledge of their required applications as well as installation requirements.
* A good knowledge of and experience working with furniture, lighting and fabric suppliers.
* A good knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials.
* Proven track record of hitting deadlines, achieving goals and regularly finding solutions to problems as they arise.
* A great communicator, you will have experience of liaising directly with architects, project managers, suppliers, contractors and clients. You will thrive playing a key role in a small team. Fluent English is imperative.
* Willing and able to help move heavy samples and small furniture items during presentations, installations and photoshoots.
* You will enjoy constantly feeding your creativity and consistently bringing great ideas to your work.
