West Drayton Platinum Jubilee Leisure Centre is set to become a future GLL flagship facility, and we're looking for an ambitious General Manager to join us in this exciting new chapter. This is a rare opportunity to apply for the General Manager position at a brand-new facility that will deliver incredible services to the community. As the driving force behind this new addition to the Hillingdon Partnership, you’ll join a dynamic team and be part of building an exciting programme from the ground up, creating a centre that meets the evolving needs of the community.
This ambitious project commenced in 2022, with completion in 2025 planned for late summer early Autumn

What you will do:
1. Develop and implement operational plans within the Centre.
2. Provide leadership to the Centre Team.
3. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements
4. Encourage innovation within the region.
5. Lead, plan and implement change
6. Help team members address problems affecting their performance
7. Build and sustain collaborative relationships with other organisations
8. Manage finance for your area of responsibility
9. Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
10. Manage a programme of complementary projects
11. Manage business processes
12. Develop and implement marketing plans for your area of responsibility
13. Work with others to improve customer service
14. Build your organisation’s understanding of its market and customers
15. Manage the achievement of customer satisfaction
What you’ll need:
16. The proven ability to effectively manage a staff team
17. The ability to analyse business issues and prepare business and local marketing plans
18. The ability to research, prepare, justify and present project reports
19. The ability to persuade and influence staff at all levels
20. The ability to produce results to demanding deadlines and work on a number of key issues simultaneously prioritising effectively
21. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. IT literate
22. The capability to contribute to the wider strategic development of the organisation
23. Thorough knowledge of leisure centre operations, programming and financial management
24. Knowledge of key performance indicators and their application and how they can be used to effect improvement
25. Up to date knowledge of developments in leisure, fitness and lifestyle environment
26. Thorough understanding of the characteristics and qualities that customers want from leisure health and fitness centres
27. A proven track record of managing in busy wet and dry leisure centres
28. Delivery of a track record of significant achievements in the areas of business and commercial objectives, product growth, development, and excellent customer service
29. Evidence of achieving results and making change happen through leadership and influence of a team

30. This is a Permanent position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service, flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
