Business Development Manager (Contract Hire & Fleet Management)
Up to £50,000 basic depending upon experience plus uncapped commission (OTE £100k including accelerator bonuses)

Our client are well known for delivering solution based services to a diverse client base. Their contract hire fleet is made up of a wide variety of commercial vehicles that include mainly 3.5T trucks to 44T tractor units and specialised vehicles and they take great pride in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining their strong industry partnerships.
Growth and expansion plans mean they need a dynamic Business Development Manager, with a strong ability in building relationships, to bring in new clients.

The role
In a nutshell, you will hunt and win incremental, long‑term new customers for our client and manage and grow the existing customer base. You will open doors, start meaningful conversations, and build relationships that are based on truly understanding customers’ needs. You will win business by building a value proposition and showing customers how you can work together to solve transport issues.
What are we looking for in you?
* A strong technical understanding of how to build an HGV for purpose from a blank sheet.
* The ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with both manufacturers and bodybuilders.
* A truly customer‑centric attitude and a collaborative approach.
* Great sales planning, diary and time management.
* The acumen required to understand a customer’s problems and challenges and relate those to solutions you can provide.
* The ability and discipline required to find and manage your own sales opportunities.
* The ability to generate a solid pipeline of properly qualified prospects that become customers.
* The acumen to know when to “do a deal” and when the right thing to do is walk away.
* The ability to close business.
* Customer management skills that build solid relationships, for the customer, for our client and for you.
