Our site at Chichester is looking for a Senior Production Operative to join their team.
In the role of Senior Production Operative you will support the shift production management team within the production areas of the factory ensuring objectives, KPIs, standards and targets are achieved, maintained & where possible improved.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Comply with all relevant company policies & procedures and customer standards, including but not limited to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Integrity & Quality and Equality & Diversity.
* To make clear and decisive decisions where necessary in relation to customer specifications, compliance and standards in order to make an effective contribution to the overall running of the factory..
* To assist in the training and development of the production teams to help drive results through continuous improvements and challenge existing process to further optimise factory KPI's.
* Effectively communicate with all stakeholders and brief teams as required.
* Ensure employees have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to achieve business performance standards and ensure that individual potential capabilities are realised.
* Coordinate production teams across the allocated area, ensuring adequate staffing levels to ensure orders are completed in full, on time and at optimum efficiency.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice and lean principles, strategy, processes and procedures to aid and improve our operational performance
Key knowledge and skills required:
* Proven experience in managing teams of 10 to 20 staff members, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team performance.
* Results-oriented and accustomed to working towards defined targets and KPIs.
* Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and ways of thinking; experience with LEAN principles is highly desirable.
* Skilled in delivering effective and practical training.
* Strong understanding of compliance requirements in relation to hygiene and food safety standards.
* Experience with Prophet or similar ERP platforms is highly advantageous.
* Competent in Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of additional languages such as Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, or Romanian is an asset.
* Demonstrate ability to integrate well within established teams and contribute to a positive team culture.
You will be required to work a 40 hour week which may include some weekends and bank holidays. It may also be necessary at times to work outside these hours to meet the demands of the business.
