Job Description
A highly regarded law firm is looking for an experienced and motivated Residential Property Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join its thriving conveyancing team in a senior capacity. The role can be based out of Bradford or Ilkley and offers an exciting opportunity for a driven legal professional or experienced fee earner to manage a busy caseload, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the strategic development of the department and wider firm.
About the Role
In this senior position within the Residential Property team, you will handle a full caseload of residential transactions while taking a leading role in mentoring and developing junior colleagues. You will be expected to contribute to business development initiatives and support the firm's financial and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and progress a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and re-mortgages
* Supervise, support and mentor junior lawyers and support staff
* Provide high-quality legal advice while maintaining exceptional client care standards
* Meet billing targets and ensure accurate time recording
* Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters in collaboration with the accounts team
* Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures
* Support marketing, client development and business growth initiatives within the department
* Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders
* Participate in internal and external training and contribute to in-house learning initiatives
* Assist the Head of Department in driving team cohesion, innovation and ongoing success
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer with extensive experience handling residential property matters independently
* Previous experience in supervision or team leadership is preferred
* Proven ability to manage and motivate a legal team
* Strong commercial awareness and business development instincts
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Highly organised with a good understanding of diary and case management systems
* Proactive and professional approach to client service and team leadership
