How You'll Help Us Connect The World
The RF/Electrical Design Engineer will be a member of our RF Engineering team based out of our Kirkcaldy site in Fife. You will be responsible for developing new designs and optimizing costs of existing products for local manufacture. Candidates must provide real-time solutions to design issues discovered during manufacturing and support factory and part evaluations.
Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, evaluate, and analyze antenna control systems.
2. Perform component-level design and testing; develop procedures for production testing and support integration of new or updated products.
3. Test and evaluate competing products and technologies.
4. Investigate and troubleshoot prototypes and existing products.
5. Stay current with embedded systems technology and research new developments.
6. Document procedures/processes from initial design to final manufacturing.
7. Assist sales and product management with bids, proposals, and RFQs.
8. Develop technical solutions under senior engineers' guidance.
9. Prepare part specifications, evaluate vendors, and collaborate with R&D centers in UK, India, and China.
Minimum Qualifications
1. At least 3 years of experience with embedded control systems (STM32, AVR, Arduino).
2. Firmware development experience (MATLAB, C), microcontroller programming, motor control, data processing.
3. Experience with electronics circuit design and PCB layout software (Mentor Designer, Altium Designer).
4. Knowledge of communication protocols (USB, Serial, Ethernet).
5. Ability to design for CE marking.
6. Experience with electronics testing equipment and creating test fixtures.
7. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
8. Proficiency in English, good verbal and written communication.
9. Self-motivated, creative, and independent worker.
10. Familiarity with NPI processes and product transition to volume production.
11. UK Driver's License is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Electronics Engineering.
2. Holding patents is a plus.
