An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Essex is seeking an Audit Partner to join its senior leadership team. This is a hands‑on, strategic role, offering the opportunity to take immediate ownership of an existing audit portfolio focused on owner‑managed businesses and SMEs. The role is ideal for an experienced Audit Director or Partner looking to make a tangible impact from day one, drive client growth, and help shape the firm's strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of an existing audit portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and excellent client service.
* Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, acting as their trusted adviser.
* Identify opportunities to grow audit work and support business development initiatives.
* Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with UK auditing standards and internal quality procedures.
* Mentor and develop the audit team, fostering talent and supporting succession planning.
Qualifications/Experience Required
* RI status with a recognised UK professional body (e.g. ICAEW or ACCA), with experience at Director or Partner level.
* Strong technical audit expertise, particularly with owner‑managed businesses and SMEs.
* Proven track record in client management, business development, and delivering results.
* Leadership experience, including team management and mentoring.
* Commercially minded, proactive, and collaborative, with the drive to influence the firm's growth.
