This role will be regionally based, reporting directly to the Head of Programmes for their region. The main responsibilities include implementing and managing the strategic direction and effective delivery of interventions such as Accredited Programmes, Structured Interventions, and Senior Attendance Centres for people on probation subject to community sentencing. These duties are carried out in accordance with the Interventions Integrity Framework and all relevant organisational policies and HMPPS accreditation standards. The postholder will have line management responsibility for a mobile and dispersed team across the region, ensuring resource allocation aligns with performance targets and quality standards.
The role involves working in partnership with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure coordinated service delivery, maintaining health and safety standards, and achieving positive outcomes for individuals on probation. Responsibilities include providing leadership to diverse teams, overseeing intervention delivery in line with management manuals and audit standards, managing resources effectively, ensuring staff are trained, promoting programmes to judiciary and probation practitioners, monitoring quality and compliance, and managing budgets and stakeholder relationships. The post also requires strategic planning, change management, and representation of the Probation Service.
The position offers hybrid working arrangements within the UK, with flexible hours and part-time options considered.
