Commercial Analyst
Reports to: Head of Commercial
Location: Space NK, Capper Street, London
Working Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 2-3 days in the office
Role Overview
The objective of the Commercial Analystis to provide analysis and insights that drive business performance. This role will support strategic decision-making by evaluating sales and customer trends, assessing promotional and trading performance, and driving profitability analysis. This is an exciting NEWrole within Space NK, which will become a central figure in not only analysing and understanding our data but providing actionable insights and recommendations across the commercial functions of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Trading & Promotional Activity:
Analyse sales trends and customer performance to identify opportunities for growth & identify potential risk.
Provide weekly and monthly reporting on key commercial metrics, including sales, margin, and profitability.
Provide promotion analysis at a sales, customer and margin level and make strategic recommendations for future activity base on the insights.
Enhancing our understanding of customer and margin drivers to optimise our profitability.
Support forecasting and budgeting processes including executing budget roll ups and preparing sign offs for the executive team with data-driven insights.
Marketing Income & Rate Card Impact
Analyse brand investment in marketing activations and measure effectiveness.
Assess revenue generated through rate card placements across stores, online, and new store launches and asses the return on space investment.
Provide recommendations to optimise marketing income streams.
Customer & Market Insights:
Provide insights into market trends and competitor activity working with partners such as Circana and SimilarWeb
Analyse how trading activity impacts behaviour of different customer segments.
Support strategic initiatives to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Leading on central planning activities including peak & contingency planning
Work closely with finance, categories, inventory, and channels to align commercial planning and strategies.
Provide actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders based on data insights.
Lead on commercial projects with supporting business cases for new initiatives and opportunities.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Strong analytical skills with experience in commercial or financial analysis.
Proficiency in data tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Qliksense or similar platforms.
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods would be beneficial.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A motivated self-starter who is keen to be the driving force of this newly created business function
