Overview

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Environment team as a Coastal Modeller today! Whether you're experienced in this area or just starting your career, we'd love to hear from you. You will be based in our Basingstoke or Bristol office, whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we're at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. These include public sector clients (UK and overseas), water utility companies, developers, oil, gas and energy companies.

In this role, you will scope, develop and use numerical models of coastal processes for a range of project applications. This can include models of waves and water levels, sediment transport, or water quality to support new and existing infrastructure. This position offers an opportunity to support and/or lead a talented and diverse team who are committed to innovation and making a positive impact.


Responsibilities

* Undertake modelling studies for a range of projects supporting feasibility/option appraisal to detailed design.
* Work closely with other disciplines in the delivery of modelling studies.
* Manage parts of a project and ensure delivery of tasks to agreed budget, programme and quality.
* Manage financial aspect of assigned project tasks.
* Support the preparation of project budget & programme.
* Appropriately liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors and suppliers.


Career progression

Depending on your level of experience you will either (1) have the opportunity to grow through guidance from experienced numerical modellers in the Coastal team or (2) have line-manager responsibilities and mentor junior modelling staff providing clear and consistent guidance for work carried out by junior modellers.
