Overview

A Library Assistant is the first point of contact for users of the Library. Library Assistants deal with the public in person and on the telephone, answering enquiries, assisting with self service terminals and public computers, shelving, signposting to other agencies and dealing with Council-related enquiries.

If you are committed to providing excellent customer care and can contribute cheerfully and efficiently to a quality Library Service, Macclesfield Library would like to hear from you. Hours will include one late night until 7pm and alternate Saturday mornings until 1pm.


Responsibilities

* Be the first point of contact for library users in person and by telephone.
* Answer enquiries and assist with self service terminals and public computers.
* Shelving and signposting to other agencies.
* Handle Council-related enquiries as part of the library service.


Qualifications and Skills

* Good communication and keyboard skills.
* Energy and enthusiasm to deliver reader development opportunities to adults and children.
* Ability to respond to customer needs and complete detail-oriented tasks.

Hours of Work

1. Week one: Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-1pm, Saturday 8.45am-1pm
2. Week two: Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 9.45am-1pm
