The Role: To be a player manager within the project deployment team, managing a team of network, server and storage deployment engineers, whose role is to deploy projects from Statement of Work (SoW) to fully configured solutions. We are looking for a technical resource who will deliver projects with their team as well as providing support to our NOC team where Engineering is required. The ideal candidate would be certified (or equivalent experienced of) Juniper Networks, Aruba Networks, Cisco Networks. Any experience of HPE, Dell, Everpure (Pure) or Nutanix server/storage/HCI is a bonus. This is a Team Leader hands-on technical role with additional management duties, and the career path for this role would be suited to someone who wants to transition from Lead Engineer to Manager. What You’ll Be Doing: MANAGE Reporting into the Head of Services, provide information on the team in terms of their workloads and their distribution across projects. Work closely with the PMO and Project Managers to assign the correct Engineers to the correct projects. Responsible for regular 121 meetings and PDPs with Engineers Responsible for the CRM (HaloPSA) in terms of the Engineer allocation across projects. KPIs including Engineer utilisation and project CSATs where Kubus Engineers were the main resource DELIVER Install, configure, commission, and test solutions at customer’s premises. To support customers wherever they are based in the world to deliver programmes of work, often for prolonged periods of time. Liaise with customer representatives and third-party organisations to coordinate delivery. Take on any role as required within the Delivery function, whether: Support Desk, TechOps, Warehouse, basic Project Management, Professional Services, Managed Services, Consultancy, and any other function as appropriate. Work with and lead other engineers in delivery teams at customer sites and on projects. Mentor and coach junior engineers. Complete all project and delivery documentation, tickets, and systems updates. Work with project managers and other delivery leadership in the preparation and planning of delivery. TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION Maintain all current and future industry and vendor certifications and ensure they remain active Complete vendor led and self-study learning to complete certifications as required by the business Identify potential training courses that will be of benefit to the individual and the business PROFESSIONAL & MANAGED SERVICES Attend customer site to deliver solutions and services Ownership of assigned customer projects Produce high quality customer documentation What We’re Looking For: Experience being a hands-on delivery technologist, particularly in leading brand networking, and other information infrastructure equipment and systems. Happy to travel nationally and internationally for prolonged periods of time. Valid UK passport with no constraints on travel. Strong pragmatic problem solving skills. Understanding of vendor technologies from HPE Networking and Cisco, with an understanding of HPE, Dell and Pure also a bonus. Experience in cable and dress within a rack. JNCIP, CCNP or equivalent networking certifications or experience for Aruba, Juniper, Cisco. Self-sufficient strong grasp of networking concepts for IP addressing, vlans, wireless configurations. Preferred understanding of orchestration and management platforms such as Juniper Apstra or Cisco SDA, ACI.
