Contract Opportunity - Lead Consent Manager (Transmission, Offshore Wind)
Rate: £650-£750 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: UK (Remote with occasional site travel)
Duration: 12 months (initial contract)
A leading offshore wind programme is seeking a Lead Consent Manager to support its Transmission DCO application through the Examination and determination phases. This is a pivotal delivery role, working closely with the Strategic Consent Lead and multiple cross-functional teams across the project.
Candidates with experience in DCO processes, linear infrastructure development, and/or renewable energy projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a range of onshore and offshore consenting elements throughout the DCO Examination phase.
* Coordinate and oversee consultants delivering input on relevant EIA topics.
* Lead stakeholder engagement related to your assigned areas, ensuring accurate and consistent messaging.
* Collaborate with legal, engineering, land, and stakeholder teams to de-risk project delivery.
* Work closely with adjacent project teams to ensure consistency and interface management across EIA topics.
* Identify and communicate consenting risks to senior leads and workstream managers.
* Support Ground Investigation Survey work with relevant consent and environmental guidance.
Key Tasks:
* Lead preparation and delivery of Examination materials, including Statements of Common Ground and responses to the Examining Authority (written and oral).
* Ensure timely and budget-aligned delivery of offshore and onshore consents.
* Influence examination strategy within assigned EIA topics to mitigate risks and align with project objectives.
* Maintain proactive risk management and reporting across all relevant consenting aspects.
* Deliver high-level external stakeholder engagement and finalise Statements of Common Ground.
* Provide expert advice on environmental and consent matters to support project decision-making.
* Support land access arrangements in coordination with the Land Manager.
Requirements:
* Strong experience in DCO Examination processes, ideally on complex linear or renewable energy projects.
* Deep understanding of EIA regulations and stakeholder engagement in infrastructure development.
* Ability to manage consultants and lead across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, risk management, and strategic delivery skills.
