Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, your duties will include:
Main duties and responsibilities:
7. Prepare monthly accounts in line with group timetables and accounting policies.
8. Investigate and report monthly variances against budgets and forecasts.
9. Work closely with business partners to review budget vs actuals, identify variances, and drive meaningful improvements.
10. Review payroll processing by third-party providers.
11. Complete monthly journals and departmental reports.
12. Prepare/review VAT and Intrastat returns.
13. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues promptly.
14. Handle expense processing and support implementation of new systems.
15. Perform PAYE payments and reconciliations.
16. Assist in budget and forecast preparation and review.
17. Support cashflow preparation and monitoring.
18. Prepare year-end schedules for external audit teams.
19. Provide cover for subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other entities as needed.
20. Engage with external stakeholders including banks, ERP providers, and auditors.
21. Support the weekly payroll process.
22. Initiate and support projects that improve financial processes, systems, and reporting quality.
23. Support the monitoring and submission of grant claims.
24. Contribute to the development of financial systems and processes.
25. Proactively participate in the individual performance management process, achieving SMART targets and continuous personal developments.
26. Fully participate in the development and achievement of the Departmental Vision
27. To undertake any other duty commensurate with the role
You will be a fully qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in a similar role. Self drive, effective communication skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data whilst showing high attention to detail and levels of accuracy are all attributes required.
