The role
Purpose:
Do you want the autonomy and freedom to enhance the lives of the People We Support?
You will deliver high-quality support and care to residents, helping them achieve independence, choice, inclusion, and control in accordance with CQC regulations and standards.
Locations & Travel:
The role is based at Ashfield House in Stourbridge. You will be required to transport the People We Support (vehicle provided), so a full, manual UK driving licence held for at least 2 years is necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Work under the direction of the Team Leader to plan and provide support and care, fostering residents' wellbeing and development based on their support plan, including:
2. Encouraging residents to maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming living environment.
3. Supporting residents with laundry to ensure they have suitable, clean clothing.
4. Planning, shopping for, and preparing healthy meals, respecting residents' preferences.
5. Assisting residents to attend medical appointments to support their health.
6. Helping residents manage their finances, including budgeting, monitoring benefits, and accessing financial support.
7. Encouraging residents to maintain an active social life aligned with their wishes.
8. Accessing training, work, and support opportunities.
9. Providing personal care as required, such as bathing or hair washing, where appropriately registered.
10. Supporting residents in managing their housing-related needs, including finances, maintenance, and safety measures.
11. Performing additional tasks as directed by the Team Leader to maintain high-quality services.
12. Adhering to policies, promoting equality and diversity, and respecting residents' rights to independence and inclusion.
13. Undertaking training and professional development to meet service and resident needs.
14. Engaging in personal development to understand and embody the organisation's philosophy and values.
Person Specification:
* Experience working in a care or support setting, preferably with adults with learning disabilities (applicants without this experience must demonstrate relevant competencies).
* A current, valid manual UK driving licence for at least 2 years is essential.
