About the Role
We’re recruiting for an Office Administrator to join a fast-growing specialist subcontractor within the construction sector, delivering high-quality project services across healthcare, education, and complex commercial projects.
This is a key support role within a small, energetic team where organisation, communication, and attention to detail are essential. You’ll play a central part in keeping project documentation, compliance records, and office coordination running smoothly.
This is not a traditional “general admin” role, it’s a construction-focused position where your work directly supports live project delivery.
For the right person, this role offers a genuine progression pathway into Office Manager as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
Construction & Project Administration
* Manage and maintain project documentation across multiple live sites
* Upload, track, and organise RAMS, H&S files, certifications, and compliance records
* Maintain subcontractor, insurance, and training documentation
* Support PQQs, tenders, and pre-construction submissions
* Liaise with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather required information
Office Coordination & Support
* Provide day-to-day administrative support across the business
* Manage calls, emails, and general office communications
* Support leadership with scheduling, reporting, and document preparation
* Help maintain a well-organised, efficient office environment
Quality & Health & Safety Support (Training Provided)
* Assist with ISO 9001 documentation and systems
* Support internal and external audit preparation
* Maintain H&S records, logs, and training documentation
* Develop knowledge of compliance and quality processes over time
Requirements:
* Previous experience in construction, engineering, or contractor administration
* Comfortable working with project documentation and compliance paperwork
* Exposure to RAMS, H&S admin, or subcontractor coordination (desirable, not essential)
* Strong IT and organisational skills
Personal Attributes
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicator who enjoys working with people
* Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
* Calm under pressure and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
* Enjoys being part of a collaborative, sociable team
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
* Exposure to ISO 9001 systems or audits
What’s on Offer
* Salary of £28,000–£32,000
* Clear progression route to Office Manager
* Full training in ISO 9001, H&S, and compliance systems
* Supportive, collaborative, and sociable team culture
* A varied role with real ownership and responsibility
* Opportunity to grow with a scaling construction business
