Position: Finance Data Analyst
Location: Gloucester – Onsite 5 days per week

Our client, a leading organisation within the technology sector, is hiring a Finance Data Analyst to support data-driven decision making across the business.
This role is heavily focused on data analysis, reporting, and delivering actionable insights through Power BI and financial reporting tools. You’ll play a key role in helping stakeholders understand business performance, identify trends, and improve operational efficiency through meaningful analysis.
Working closely with senior finance stakeholders and operational teams, you’ll turn complex data into clear commercial insights that support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions.
What you’ll do
Analyse large volumes of financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business performance tracking
Deliver detailed analysis and commentary around variances against budget and forecast
Support month-end reporting, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
Work with multiple data sources and systems to improve reporting accuracy and visibility
Provide stakeholders with meaningful insights to support commercial and operational decisions
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and efficiency
Collaborate with finance, billing, and operational teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
Support audit and year-end processes where required
You’ll work closely with Finance leadership and wider business teams to improve reporting capability and help shape a more insight-led decision-making culture.
What we’re looking for
Strong experience analysing data and delivering actionable business insights
Advanced Excel skills and strong Power BI capability
Experience building dashboards, reports, and visualisations for stakeholders
Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly
Experience working across multiple systems and data sources
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
Understanding of finance processes including accruals and prepayments would be beneficial
AAT qualification or finance background desirable
The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, naturally curious, and confident working with stakeholders across the business. You’ll enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and turning data into actionable insight.
