Job Description

Ultra PCS is seeking a Safety Quality Engineer to join Ultra's Safety Function. This team ensures compliance with quality policies and safety management standards, working closely with compliance, operations, and engineering to ensure product and process conformity and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including hazard identification, risk management, safety performance reporting, safety documentation, training, and incident investigations.
2. Support the Safety Management function by developing directives, policies, and procedures aligned with standards and requirements.
3. Analyze safety data to identify root causes and develop preventative or corrective actions.
4. Conduct performance and process control analysis for safety improvements.
5. Assist in safety-related supplier assessments and safety audit planning and reporting.
6. Support investigations of quality issues and ensure compliance with quality measures and external audits.
7. Contribute to the development of Quality Plans and participate in engineering review processes.
8. Support operator approval processes and ensure departmental objectives are met.
9. Develop a culture of continuous improvement through process mapping, lean practices, and other activities.
10. Maintain company approvals such as EASA/CAA, FAR, ISO, and others to ensure airworthiness.
11. Perform additional activities as needed to support Ultra’s goals.


Required Skills

* Understanding of hazard and risk management in aerospace products.
* Experience in Quality and Business Improvement, including working within a quality management system and supporting audits.
* Knowledge of manufacturing environments and supply chain interactions.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong planning, decision-making, and initiative skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.


Desirable Skills

* Experience in aerospace organizations.
* Certified Quality Auditor qualification.
* Engineering qualifications or degree.
* Educational background at least A level or equivalent, ideally degree level.


Experience

* Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, CAA Part 21, EASA Part 145).
* Familiarity with aerospace topics like FOD and counterfeit avoidance.
* Experience with First Article and Parts Approval methods (e.g., AS9102, PPAP).
* Proficiency in process measurement techniques (SPC, KPIs).
* Experience with Quality Management Systems and process mapping software.
