We are currently seeking a Deputy Head Teacher based at our SEN School in Congleton.
This school is a friendly and successful provision, supporting vulnerable young children aged 7-18 years with special education needs. It also serves as a base for our outreach services.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Head Teacher, you will provide leadership to the teaching team, enabling them to develop outstanding outcomes for our learners and acting as a delegated authority in the absence of the Headteacher. You will contribute to the educational and social development of each young person, ensuring effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate), and external agencies.
You will also be expected to:
* Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
* Complete regular peer reviews with teaching staff to maintain high standards
* Schedule and conduct termly supervisions with the teaching team
* Lead on curriculum, teaching, and learning alongside the headteacher
* Lead the school’s approach to assessment
* Identify strategies to overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning
* Plan and prepare lessons, delivering effective teaching that promotes deep learning
* Address the emotional and physical needs of our young people to maximize their personal development
* Promote equality and diversity
* Maintain good quality records and monitor progress
* Ensure a personalized educational program based on robust assessment
* Perform duties as outlined in the Teacher Standards
* Seek and act on young people’s views and wishes where appropriate
* Ensure appropriate resources and inclusive environments for all students
* Contribute to self-evaluation processes
* Coordinate with teachers and assistants for effective resource deployment
* Develop and meet the evolving needs of the school
Flexibility is required, and the post holder may be delegated additional duties.

What we are looking for:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS)
* Experience teaching at key stages 4 and 5, preferably in core subjects (English, maths, or science)
* Relevant National Professional Qualification (e.g., NPQSL, NPQLT, NPQLBC) or willingness to obtain one
* Experience implementing safeguarding strategies at middle/senior levels
* Experience with school-wide assessment
* Subject specialism (maths/science desirable, but open to all qualified teachers)
* SEND/SEMH experience
* Willingness to act as delegated authority in the absence of the Headteacher
* Commitment to professional development
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
