Location: Newbury, Berkshire Category: Service Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £37,000 - £52,000 OTE (uncapped) About the Role A well-established automotive retailer in the South and South-West is seeking a skilled Service Technician & MOT Tester to join their Aftersales team in Newbury. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will carry out a variety of workshop and MOT duties efficiently, safely, and in line with industry standards. This role is critical in meeting customer expectations while supporting workshop productivity and utilisation. What You'll Be Doing Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out vehicle servicing and repairs in line with technical and quality standards. Conducting Class IV MOT tests to government requirements and maintaining strict quality control. Following all dealership and workshop processes. Liaising directly with customers when appropriate. Offering support and guidance to less experienced colleagues. Attending regular technical training to maintain and develop skills. Contributing actively as a member of the workshop and wider dealership team. Maintaining a clean, safe working environment, adhering to health and safety policies. Correctly using protective equipment and following COSHH procedures when handling hazardous materials. Completing additional reasonable tasks when required, depending on workshop needs. Essential Qualifications & Experience Fluent written and spoken English. Strong PC and web literacy, including Microsoft applications. Full, clean driving licence. Valid Class IV MOT testing qualification. Desirable Qualifications & Experience A proven track record of high performance. Previous experience working with vehicle repairs and diagnosis. Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ accreditation. Experience within a franchised workshop environment. Strong diagnostic ability. Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
