Healthcare assistant

Long Stratton Medical Partnership are looking to welcome an experienced Healthcare Assistant to their clinical nursing team on a part-time basis for 24 hours per week. This will be worked over 3 or 4 days per week and is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Main duties will include; Providing screening and monitoring services for the patient population ECG recording NHS h ealth checks 24 hour blood pressure monitoring Phlebotomy Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GP’s/nurses Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Overseeing surgical equipment, vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Support PN’s in management of diabetic follow-up and pre-diabetic recall For further details, please see job description attached. About the Candidate The healthcare assistant role within general practice can be very different to the role within other settings and as such we are only looking for applications from those with previous primary care experience. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance. All applicants should have the following skills and qualifications: Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC Experience in wound care management Experience of recording ECGs Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills Organised Desired: Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent Phlebotomy qualification SystmOne experience About Us At Long Stratton Medical Partnership, we take pride in being a family focused, close knit team – our ‘work family’ is how we often describe ourselves. We use SystmOne and run cloud-based telephony which links seamlessly with the clinical system and provides excellent functionality. We have completed our surgery expansion work with a new wing being added to include 7 clinical rooms. The reason for the expansion is that Long Stratton is being bypassed, 2,000 new homes are planned and therefore potentially 5,000-6,000 new patients will be joining us.
