Position: Biology Tutor Location: Enfield Salary: Outer London Weighting Start date: September 2026 Smart Teachers is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Biology Tutor to support students in achieving academic excellence within a successful and inclusive secondary setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a Biology specialist who is passionate about science education and committed to helping students develop confidence, subject knowledge, and exam success. The successful candidate will provide targeted intervention, small-group tuition, and one-to-one support for students across Key Stages 3, 4, and Key Stage 5. The role would suit a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, science graduate, or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable experience within a school environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Biology tuition to individuals and small groups. Support students in developing their understanding of key biological concepts and examination techniques. Identify gaps in learning and implement effective intervention strategies. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Contribute to raising attainment and improving outcomes across the Science department. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and confidence in learning. The Successful Candidate Will Have A degree in Biology or a related scientific discipline. Experience supporting or teaching Biology at secondary level. Strong subject knowledge across Key Stages 3 and 4 (A-Level knowledge desirable). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to motivate and inspire young people.
