We are experienced in working with, and satisfying, multi-national organizations, utilities, and government departments, as well as specialist companies involved in mission critical, OEM, service, plant hire and power generation.
Job Summary
This role would be ideally suited to someone has experience in working full-time in a HSE environment and looking to expand on their skillset in HSE.
The business has experienced rapid growth in recent years and is looking to expand its facilities footprint by moving part of its operations to another facility locally and its production and support functions. The role will initially be based at our Stamford facility until we have acquired the second facility.
The Health and Safety Advisor work closely with the business to guide, liaise and support the administration of the Health and Safety function and management systems.
Job Requirements
* Support the onsite H&S Specialist in ensuring the company is compliant to UK regulations.
* Support and guide the company to meet health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations.
* Build and maintain relationships with operators and support staff to influence and promote good H&S culture.
* Creating/Completing risk assessments, safe systems of work, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
* Advise management on safety matters, including the implementation. of safety initiatives, safety management systems, and safety performance indicators.
* Provide safety training to employees, for a range of subjects, included but not limited to: Inductions, manual handling, COSHH, working at height, LOTO and fire awareness.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis with recommendations for corrective actions.
* Attend daily toolbox talks, and safety pillar meetings and maintain minutes/agenda for all HSE meetings.
* Attend safety meetings and conferences to stay abreast of industry developments and best practices for the company and your own self development.
* Mentor and advise our supervisors on safety and following best practices.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Information Security, Site Security and GDPR.
* Be the system administrator for the health and safety management system. Which will include maintaining training documentation and booking in courses, reviewing the action tracker with the HSE specialist and supporting the global team with the Avtron management process.
* Carry out emergency preparedness exercises, such as fire evacuations, spill drills and first aid exercises with the emergency response teams.
* Undertake ergonomic assessments, COSHH assessments, DSE assessments to identify risks and opportunities to drive proactive risk mitigation for individuals and the business.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 programs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

You'll have:
* NEBOSH general certification or equivalent (IOSH, NVQ or NCRQ)
* Full and valid driving licence
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with acute attention to detail
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment, would be advantageous
* Experience of undertaking and supporting risk assessments.
Desirable, but not essential:
* NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent
* NEBOSH Certificate in Fire safety or equivalent.
* Experience or knowledge of electrical test environment.
