What you’ll be doing

As an Optometrist at Boots, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care – using the latest tech, working alongside experienced colleagues, and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Whether you're leading a clinic, responding to triage, or mentoring others, no two days are the same, and your growth never stops.


Key responsibilities

* Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
* Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
* Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
* Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
* Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
* Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
* Playing a key role in your store's leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift


What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

* We’re looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients.
* GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
* NHS performer number (or working towards it)
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration


It would be great if you also have

* Experience supporting enhanced services
* A strong understanding of local clinical networks

Need To Know

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 1 experienced, fully qualified and registered Optometrist to join us on a resident basis based in the Glenrothes practice at Boots Opticians.

We are looking for an Optometrist to work full time, alternating 1 working Saturday off Sunday, week 2 off Saturday working Sunday, week 3 weekend off. No late night store close 17.30 and 16.00 on a Sunday. Willing to be flexible.

Our Practice is a freestanding without a hearing care, consisting of 2 testing rooms. The practice is supported by a Great close knit team. All experienced and great optics knowledge range from 23 years to 2 years and 2 Dispensing. Each practise consist of OCT, Phoropters and some do have the Optomap as well.

The practise is in a new town, store is in a busy shopping centre, with good local bus network covers all of Fife, Edinburgh and express bus from Glasgow, local parking is £1 a day.
