Job Title: Pharmacy Dispenser/Technician

Main Purpose:
To dispense medicines to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assisting the pharmacist with the preparation of prescriptions
· Label and dispense prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients in an efficient and accurate manner
· Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality
· Sales of over the counter medicines, providing customers with information on symptoms and products
· Prescription receipt and collection
· Date checking, and ordering, pharmaceutical stock
· Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
· Managing queries from patients regarding their prescriptions
· Maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions

Competencies:
Essential
* GCSE Maths and English grade C or above
* Team worker
* Excellent customer service skills
* Knowledge of confidentiality and its application
* Basic Microsoft Office/ IT skills
Desirable Criteria
* Previous relevant pharmacy experience of at least one year
* Hold NPA Accredited Assistants course or equivalent NVQ Level II/III in Pharmacy Services
* Previous experience with MDS systems.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications & previous experience.
