Starting salary: $73,048 to $80,783 + superannuation

The roles | Te tūnga
We have multiple permanent Statistical and Data Analyst roles, across teams in our Methods & Design branch.
Our branch provides methodological leadership and technical support across StatsNZ and the wider data system.
As a Statistical and Data Analyst, you'll analyse data, carry out research, apply sound judgment, and draw meaningful conclusions within relevant conceptual frameworks and real-world contexts. Working alongside our experts, you will play a key role in developing and producing some of New Zealand's key statistical releases and future products.
These roles would suit someone who can bring:
* Curiosity, strong data analysis skills, and a natural ability to problem solve.
* Experience using statistical software e.g. R, to extract and analyse data, and the ability to pick up new tools quickly
* A bachelor's degree or higher with a major or significant component of mathematics, statistics, computer science or interdisciplinary subjects that involve analytical thinking and incorporate mathematics and statistics
* Great written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence a range of people.
* The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
* Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Māori
* Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity, equity and inclusion.
