12 Months Fixed Term/ Secondment Opportunity
We are looking for individuals with proven experience in providing excellent service and a genuine desire to help customers to join our expanding Parking Customer Services team. The role focuses on assisting customers with Parking Permit enquiries received by telephone or email, ensuring they are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction and that orders are fulfilled swiftly. You will be a strong communicator with high levels of accuracy, delivering a seamless and positive customer experience, and you will be confident using IT and helping customers self-serve online.
The team continually aims to improve processes to maximise customer satisfaction and efficiency, collaborating with different service areas to optimise the customer journey. Hackney Council’s Parking Services are recognised as a leading local authority in parking management and enforcement.
Responsibilities
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints at first point of contact (where possible).
* Support parking permit and cycle hanger administration to meet customer demand.
* Provide excellent written and verbal communication, and maintain high accuracy in all tasks.
* Assist customers to self-serve online and use IT effectively.
* Collaborate with other service areas to ensure a best possible customer journey.
Qualifications
* Experience of handling customer enquiries and resolving complaints at first point of contact.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient computer skills are essential.
* Basic numeracy (e.g., GCSE Maths equivalent Grade C or above).
* Able to take responsibility for own contribution and that of the team.
* Innovative mindset with proactive problem solving and process improvement.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
