About the Job:
The Hewitt Centre is a large fertility unit and one of the leading fertility clinics in Europe. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring individual to join our Knutsford team.
The role involves assisting the registered nurse in caring for patients undergoing fertility investigations and treatments. Responsibilities include performing tasks delegated by the registered nurse, acting as a chaperone during medical examinations, ultrasound scans, and procedures, as well as undertaking routine clerical duties.
Main duties of the job
* Familiarize yourself with the HFEA code of practice and Hewitt Centre standard operating procedures.
* Perform venipuncture to take blood from patients attending the clinic.
* Act as a chaperone during medical examinations, procedures, and ultrasound scans.
* Prepare and tidy rooms before and after procedures.
* Handle phone queries and assist nursing staff with the clinic's phone service, redirecting calls as needed.
* Check case notes and book patient treatments.
* Complete all necessary data inputting required by HFEA.
* Request follow-up appointments as directed by nursing or medical staff.
* Assist with general administrative duties such as managing mail and photocopying.
* File laboratory reports, charts, and documents.
* Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment in line with health and safety policies.
* Prepare and serve light refreshments to patients after oocyte collections.
* Assist with maintaining ward stock and storing supplies.
* Input data into hospital and IDS systems.
* Prepare case notes for clinic appointments.
* Establish good relationships with staff and volunteers.
* Follow departmental standard operating procedures.
* Work at Liverpool site or other satellite/transport centers as required.
